The free family event will take place from noon – 6p.m. Saturday, September 11, at Camp RockyVine in Dutzow. Attendees are asked to bring canned goods to benefit local food pantries. Featured bands include The Steubenville Band with Adam Bitter and Karl Zimmerman, the Pete Buncher Band and Soul Purpose (formerly PRAZ). “The annual Steubenville Midwest Youth Conference and monthly XLT celebrations are extremely popular with the teens that have attended them,” Jim Carter, the KCs chair of the event noted. “This free event gives other teens and families the opportunity to experience a day of the same music, fun and faith in a great outdoor venue at RockyVine Catholic Youth Camp.” Monsignor John Borcic, former Pastor at St. Vincent Parish in Dutzow and current Executive Director of the Catholic Youth Apostolate as well as State Chaplain for the Missouri Knights of Columbus, added, “This will be a great family event for entire St. Louis Archdiocese, but especially for the areas surrounding Dutzow.” KC Councils from Dutzow, Gerald, Gildehaus, New Haven, Union and Washington are providing much of the support staff for the day’s activities. In remembrance of those who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks, a collection will be taken during Mass to benefit Backstoppers.
