*El Shaddai Ranch Ministeries, Moscow Mills, MO The free "Flood Aid-‘08" Christian music concert is in the planning stage by the Greater Troy Ministerial Alliance, according to GTMA President, Rev. Steve Minkler, and GTMA Secretary, Rev. Donna Doan. The Christian-themed concert, a "family day," will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Aug. 23, at El Shaddai Ranch Ministries, 3325 Deer Run Lane, Moscow Mills, MO, and will be for the benefit of those impacted by the Lincoln County floods. Donations received through this benefit fund raiser will be used to help families and will distributed through the Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Center. The concert has a web site, www.FloodAid-08.org and an email address, gtma@FloodAid-08.org. Patrons will be able to donate at the concert, on-line through PayPal, or by mail to: GTMA Flood Aid-‘08, 1589 W. Hwy 47, Troy, MO 63379. Several Christian bands will perform, and plans call for various groups to sell food, with a percentage of their profits to go to the concert. There will be face painting, a balloon “animal” creator, and other entertainment. Families are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, picnics and their checkbooks, along with non-perishable food for the GTMA food pantry.

Local teens, ages 14-18, will model clothing and accessories from local retailers after participating in an 8 month formation program that includes hair and make-up application, public speaking, community service, and ongoing faith formation. He retired from Delta Airlines as the captain of a Boeing 767 at the age of 58. It was during his career in commercial airlines with Delta that he lived through a life threatening hijacking of his plane. That event helped change his life.
