When I think back to the times in my life when God seemed the closest, there is one common denominator. Heartache.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
If your heart is hurting today, you may be tempted to think that God is distant or uncaring. One of the characteristics of God that I appreciate the most is that when we’re broken and crushed in spirit, the Lord moves in. He comes close. He is near, today. Especially if your heart is broken and you feel shattered. May His presence remind you that you’re not alone and that you are deeply loved. – Sandi
