I keep thinking that surely one day, the enemy will stop trying to discourage and distract us. But I don’t think he will. He was persistent in tempting Jesus and his stripes haven’t changed. After tempting Jesus twice before, the devil took Him to a mountain and said,
“All this I will give you if you bow down and worship me.” Matthew 4:9
I can’t get over the gall and the persistence of the enemy. He was toe to toe with Jesus, the King. Yet still acted like he was the one in charge. Personally, I think the enemy knew of Jesus’ authority. He was simply attempting to distract and discourage. And he still uses those tactics with us today. The enemy is real. His lies are not. Don’t believe him. Don’t give up. He is defeated. You are not. – Sandi
