“I’m not a good pray-er.” I hear that a lot. And I’ve felt that way often myself. If prayer still feels a little “clunky” to you, here’s a good place to start. Jesus was teaching people how to pray, and we now call it “The Lord’s Prayer.” This is the part that is the most difficult for me:
“…Your will be done…” Matthew 6:10
The reason that I’m not a good “pray-er” is because I struggle with wanting His will over my own. That is at the root of praying. Surrender. The words you use when praying are not near as important as the heart behind them. May God soften our hearts so that we want Him and His way more than our own. Prayer is surrender.
