We all know a hypocrite. And if we’re honest, we’ve all seen one in the mirror.
“You hypocrites!…These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me…” Matthew 15:8
It is so easy to talk the talk. Sing the songs. Look good on the outside. It is also easy for our hearts to wander and drift far from God. I’ve been there. And I visit often. God isn’t impressed with our performances. He simply wants us to stay close. If you feel like your relationship with God is empty and in need of a reboot, He wants that as well. Start from where you are. But start with a fresh surrender. Start with honest confession. That is when our words and songs flow from a good place. A place that is close to His heart. – Sandi
