Why did Jesus say, “No?” Because He had a better plan.
“…the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with Jesus. He didn’t let him go, but said, ‘Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you…” Mark 5:18-19
Jesus set the man free from a life of torment. So, why wouldn’t he allow the man to come with him? Because the healed man had a new purpose. A new story. And a new mission: Share Jesus with those who don’t yet know Him.
I’m reminded of my purpose when I read this verse. And I’m reminded that when God says, “No” that He always has a loving, better plan. – Sandi
