Can you even picture the God of all creation saying this?
“If anyone wants to be first he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35
Jesus was correcting and teaching his followers who were arguing about which of them was the greatest. They were in Jesus’ presence and still debating who was the greatest. Our pride can lead us to say and do pretty goofy things.
I don’t think God will be impressed by our resumes when we see Him face to face. But He will care about how many people we served. That is His heart. Loving. Serving. It is so easy to get fixated on striving to be and do more. May God soften our hearts and remind us of the importance of serving. He is the greatest. And He served. – Sandi
