Why does God seemingly answer some prayers and not others? That’s a mystery we won’t fully understand until we see Him face to face. But Jesus asked both his disciples and a blind man the same question:
“What do you want me to do for you?” Mark 10:51
The disciples wanted glory for themselves…prominent positions next to Jesus. The blind man asked to see. Jesus granted the beggar’s request, but not his disciples. I don’t know all of the reasons why, but one request was about elevating man’s position and the other showed God’s authority.
It makes me pause and examine the intention of my heart…are my thoughts and prayers rooted in bringing God glory or some selfish desire of my own? May our prayer today be, “God, what do you want me to do for you?” – Sandi
