Sometimes, I get it backwards. I start to look at God as a means to an end…He is the One who is supposed to bless my life and when He doesn’t, I get frustrated with Him.
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
Here’s where I get it backwards: I want God to follow and bless my lead. But there’s only One God of the universe and it isn’t me. Or you. There’s only One who paid the price for my sin and yours. And He is the One who invites and requires us to follow His lead. Do life His way. Give up our lives to live the new life He offers.
Following Jesus requires us to sacrifice our own way. But the reward is great. A forgiven, abundant life now and eternity with our Heavenly Father. God, we will follow your lead and do life your way. – Sandi
