Praying is such a personal thing. Honestly, I struggle when praying with others. I’m not embarrassed to pray. I struggle with focusing on what THEY may think of my prayer instead of focusing on WHO I’m praying too. If you ever struggle with praying, maybe this heartfelt prayer from Daniel will resonate with you (even though it wasn’t intended for our ears alone).
“We don’t make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act!” Daniel 9: 18-19
Can you hear the passion? The relationship? That’s what I want my prayer time to be about…an honest, passionate conversation with my Father, my Redeemer. If it has been awhile since you’ve prayed. Why not start right now? There’s no formula or “right” words to impress God. Just be honest. Share your heart and be open to hearing His. That’s prayer. – Sandi
