Has God ever met you in the middle of your pain? He has met me there. Looking back on some painful times, here’s what I’ve realized: I always ask God to remove the pain. He always joins me in it.
Think about Daniel with the Lions. The fiery furnace. So many times in scripture and in our lives, we ask for the trouble or pain to go away. And God says, “For reasons only I Know, I’m not going remove you from the situation. But I am going to be with you through it.”
If you are navigating through a difficult season right now, it certainly OK to ask God for relief. But be open to the possibility that He may not remove the problem. And also be open to His presence, right there with you. He will be your comfort. Your peace and your way through this. He joins you in the pain, which is a pretty remarkable thing.
