The shame cycle: Try hard. Fall short. Feel discouraged. Try harder. Same results. Why do I forget that God doesn’t expect me to do this life in my own strength?
“Be strong and courageous Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
It is exhausting to try to “measure up” to expectations, of God, yourself, or others. God knows your weaknesses and limitations. He doesn’t expect you to muster up strength and courage on your own. But He does promise to walk with you and empower you by His Spirit. So, don’t strive to do life in your own abilities today. Find your courage and strength in Him. – Sandi
