Uncomfortable. And hopeful. That is my reaction to this verse. Every time I read it, my insecurities and my faith begin to wrestle. Perhaps your heart needs to be reminded of this truth as well.
“He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because he delighted in me.” Psalm 18:19
I have no problem believing that God rescues. I’ve experienced it many times in my life. Perhaps you have as well. It isn’t the “what” God does, that messes with me. It is His “why.”
The thought that God delights in me is almost too much for my heart to handle. My shame and insecurities say it isn’t true. But the tender heart of my Father says otherwise. He delights in me. He created me. Sacrificed much for me. And loves having a relationship with me. The same is true for you.
May you get a glimpse into God’s heart today. May you not settle for knowing what He has DONE for you. But dare to believe that His heart is FOR you…He delights in you. – Sandi
