It is so easy to drift. A slow descent. A steady veer. You don’t intentionally walk away from your faith. But you wake up one day and realize that there is a distance in your relationship with God.
“We must pay careful attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” Hebrews 2:1
Drift happens. Unless we’re intentional about growing. Subtle shifts in our beliefs and convictions happen. Unless we’re consistent in spending time in God’s Word.
So, what do you do when you recognize that you’re not where you want to be in your relationship with God? From one drifter to another, can I encourage you to take the first step? Start where you are. Be intentional about what goes into your mind and heart. Spend time in God’s Word. Hear His heart. Foster the relationship. It will grow. He is close. And His heart is open to drifters. Again and again. –Sandi
