I like to “chase the shade” when I walk this time of year. Those moments along the way when you get some relief from the intense sun. Every time, the Lord reminds me that He is my shade.
“The Lord will create…a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night…it will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.” Isaiah 4:5-6
God is so faithful. He understands the brokenness in this world and the struggles we face. So He promises to walk with us and be our shade. The heat is still there. But His presence brings comfort. He gives us strength to keep walking.
And when we face dark times of the soul, He is our refuge and rescue. He offers protection and peace.
If you are in a season that feels intense and overwhelming, chase the shade. Seek Him. His faithful promise and presence is for you. He will be with you day and night. – Sandi
