If you’re facing a difficult situation right now, remember that Jesus is close. Sometimes your emotions tell you otherwise, but Jesus cares.
“A furious storm came up and the waves broke over the boat. Jesus was sleeping.
The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’” Mark 5:37-38
I’ve been there. I suspect you have too. The unexpected storm hits. Fear sets in. And it feels like Jesus is unconcerned or unaware.
Do you know how Jesus responds to our lack of faith? With compassion. The disciples didn’t have enough faith to ask Jesus to settle the storm. They merely called out to Him with fear and accusations. But Jesus responded anyway. Why? Because that’s who He is.
He welcomes your desperate cries. He understands your lack of faith and unsettled emotions. He responds to your need with compassion. Still. Cry out to Him today. He is with you in the storm.
