What do you do when your way looks different than God’s way?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
Those are strong words from Jesus. And they shake me to my core.
Jesus was speaking to a large crowd. They were curious about his teachings and miracles. They often followed to see what he would say or do next.
But Jesus didn’t come to attract those kinds of “followers.” His invitation was to follow the will of God. One is easier to do than the other. Jesus is reminding us that the heart of following Jesus is Surrender.
Choosing God’s way over our own ideas and desires. “Lord, we surrender to your way today.” – Sandi
