Have you ever wondered if God’s GPS is broken? I don’t want to admit it, but, at times, I question God. “What are you doing? Why did you bring me here?”
“God didn’t lead them on the road…that was shorter…. God led them around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.” Exodus 13:17-18.
Their story may sound like yours. There was a shortcut. They knew it and God knew it. There had to be moments of doubt. Questioning God. Especially as the enemy approached. And the options seemed limited. They didn’t know He was going to part the sea. They simply knew He didn’t choose the shortest way…the way they would have chosen
Can you relate? When I don’t understand the journey and I can’t yet see a way out, I get fearful and begin to doubt. That’s when this reminder is needed: God wasn’t concerned about shortcuts. God was positioning them for His purposes. And He was with them every step of the seemingly longer-than-necessary journey. The same is true for you. You can trust Him. Even the long way through. – Sandi
