If I’m being honest, there are times that my worship is more about me than God. That sounds horrible. But I think it’s true. It is so much easier to worship when I FEEL good or when God has answered a prayer. It is difficult to worship when I’m doubtful, discouraged or sad.
“Early the next morning, Hannah arose and worshiped before the Lord….” 1 Samuel
Hannah desperately wanted a baby. She cried out to God. Others mocked her but she faithfully prayed. And she faithfully worshiped…..even before her prayer was answered.
There’s double meaning to “worshiped BEFORE the Lord.” It not only speaks to her posture, but her timing. She worshipped before she received the blessing.
I want to worship BEFORE the Lord DOES anything for me. I want my worship to be about HIM and not me. He is worthy…..always. -Sandi
