“I’m comforting you so you can comfort them.” These sweet words were spoken to my heart at my mom’s memorial service nearly 16 years ago. I was standing alone, listening to people share kind words about my mama and thinking, “this can’t be real”. It was just 10 months after I lost my dad and I couldn’t believe that I was doing this again.
But God.
In those all consuming moments that felt deep and heavy, God comforted me. He brought me a friendly face, or an unexpected laugh. He met me in my broken spaces and filled them with hope.
If your broken spaces feel deep, you’re not alone. Jesus is next to you waiting to fill them with hope and a joy you can’t find any other place. He sees you. He cares. You are loved. -Kim
