Have you ever wondered if God’s GPS is broken? I don’t want to admit it, but I question God. What are you doing? Why did you bring me here? We can’t see the destination or the good, so we conclude that God must be wrong or mean.
“God didn’t lead them on the road…that was shorter….God led them around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.” Exodus 13:17-18.
We know the ending to the story…God parted the waters, and His people were saved. But while on the “longer than necessary” journey, they didn’t know the outcome. It had to seem puzzling to them. There had to be moments of doubt. And fear, as the enemy approached. They hadn’t seen God work yet. God isn’t concerned with shortcuts. He is concerned with obedience and faithfulness. God was positioning them for His purposes. The same is true for you. – Sandi
