Chris Tomlin
Right now on my playlist. I mean, I got three girls, so it’s Encanto, We Don’t Talk About Bruno. This morning on the way to school we were listening to The Nutcracker. I don’t know why. That’s what they wanted to listen to because they’re doing ballet. Yeah, that’s my life right now.

I completely understand that one. All right. And one more. You’ve been in St. Louis many times. You have a favorite thing you love to do when you’re in St. Louis or a favorite memory of being here.
Chris Tomlin
Yeah. One of my favorite memories is I played at the Cardinals game years and years ago for after a game. I was a nobody, no one knew who I was. There was no record deal. This was a long time ago. And my dad I, I believe it was Father’s Day, and we went up in the arch together and all the things we had a great time. One of my great memories of my dad.

How cool is that? Your new album, Always, hit stores Friday and we’ve been playing the song for a while. Can you want to tell us a little bit about Always?
Chris Tomlin
Yeah! The title, Always, obviously is name of the song that’s out, but it’s also the title of the record. And the idea is that we think about “always” as that Eternal, Everlasting, Infinite… That’s who God is. And reminding people that we serve God is faithful, even if we’re faithless. He is faithful to us. He’s an Always God.
And for me and my music, I always wanted to point people to that, that that there is one who is faithful and that is eternal. And our faith is not just 30 minutes old, but it’s generation after generation. Hebrew says Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. And that’s, that’s the heart of this song Always. And the heart of this music.

When I try to write music, the whole record’s just full of worship like that. And so that’s, that’s kind of where the idea came from.
