…In unexpected places
In preparation for next summer’s mission trip, we flew to Guatemala to see what their most significant needs were. We were shocked. It caused us to rethink our entire mission trip plans. We met:
- Children who are now orphans because they lost both their parents and grandparents to COVID. Their entire support system is gone.
- Kids who are so neglected that they are still nonverbal at age 7 or 8.
- Young girls and women who have experienced trauma and have no place to find help or healing.
- Fathers who feel helpless to support their family, so they have turned to alcohol to self-medicate.
Help & Healing are possible
God led us to an innovative compassionate response: Bring Christian counselors in country to train ministry leaders as they serve the poor… meeting physical emotional and spiritual needs.
