Sometimes God asks us to “do” or “go” and it just isn’t convenient. And sometimes I opt for easy instead of obedience. That’s why this verse hits me so powerfully:
“I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God an offering that cost me nothing.” 2 Samuel 24:24
David, as King, was preparing an offering to the Lord. His servants offered the resources needed. But David didn’t choose easy. He didn’t want to simply put his name on someone else’s offering. He went “all in.” It cost him something. It was a true sacrifice. I want that kind of heart. One that values giving and honors God, even when it is costly. – Sandi
