Anxiety is like a weed. It is unwanted. It grows quickly in places you don’t expect. And it is resilient. If you are anxious and overwhelmed, you have an ally in the battle of the weeds.
“When anxiety was great within me, your comfort brought joy to my soul.” Psalm 94:19
In my life, anxiety pops up like a weed I never saw coming. If unattended to, it grows and spreads. One anxious thought turns into a wildfire of emotion and fear.
I love the reminder that when anxiety tries to take hold, God’s grip is still firm. He meets you in the middle of “overwhelmed.” He comforts you. He restores hope. He infuses joy. He reminds you of His power and grace.
If you’re feeling anxious today, cry out to Jesus. He understands. He is ready to tend to the garden of your soul with comfort and joy. – Sandi
