My husband tells the story of when he was a little boy playing basketball. He finally got the ball, ran it down the court and scored…..for the other team. Even though he made a basket, he missed the point. Literally. I think we may do the same thing at times.
“Whatever you do for one of the least of these, you do for me.” Matthew 25:40
Jesus was making sure we understood the point….the real goal: When we serve others with a pure heart, we’re loving Him well. So many things vie for our time and affection. But let’s not chase after something that doesn’t matter. Let’s love. Let’s serve. Especially those that need it most. When we do, we come close to the heart of Jesus. – Sandi
