I crave more peace. Less drama. More contentment. Less chaos. More…faith.
“You will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Perfect peace? Sometimes I fall into the trap of thinking that “peace” is what happens when everything goes well. It is the feeling we get when good things happen.
But what if peace isn’t a description of our circumstances? Or even a feeling we get? What if peace is available and possible, even in the middle of chaos?
Life isn’t perfect. Ever. We live in a broken world. With broken people. Life is often chaotic and unpredictable. And we can find ourselves peace deprived.
But God says there’s a better way. Peace is findable. Perfect peace is available. Because it is found when we trust a perfect Savior. When we trust Him in the chaos. When we pray more and worry less. When our minds are fixed on His faithfulness.
If you are craving peace today, spend a few minutes dwelling on God’s character and track record. Replace some of the fear and worry with surrendered prayer. Trust in Him. And begin to experience the perfect peace that He promises. – Sandi
