One of the weapons that the enemy uses in my life is discouragement. I can be so hard on myself. I made a mistake. Said something I regret. And soon I’m in a pit of gunk that is so sticky in my mind and heart.
“The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down…The Lord is near to all who call on him…” Psalm 145: 14,18
The lie is that you’re beyond God’s grace. That God is frustrated with you and is keeping you at arm’s length. The truth is that He never leaves. He picks you up when you fall. When you call, he answers. And not from a distance. He is close enough to hold you, wipe away the tears and whisper truth to your hurting heart.
