Several years ago, I convinced myself that I didn’t need to forgive someone who had hurt me. I thought, “God only forgives those who ask for it….and this person hasn’t asked for my forgiveness…..so I don’t have to forgive them.” A friend lovingly challenged my rationale. She reminded me that God OFFERS forgiveness to everyone. Some choose it. Others don’t. But to follow God’s lead in forgiving…. I need to offer it.
“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13
I am so thankful that God offers me forgiveness. I never deserve it. But I can offer it to someone else. There’s probably someone in your life that God wants you to forgive…..not because they deserve it. But because we’re asked to forgive others as He forgives us. – Sandi
