I have a tendency to veer. To run. To try to do life on my own. To be a “doer” instead of a “follower.” So, when I hear this passionate plea from Moses to God, it challenges me.
“If your presence doesn’t go with us, don’t send us from here… What else will distinguish your people from everyone else?” Exodus 33:15
Moses wasn’t interested in doing things for God. His desire was to stay in God’s presence. He wanted to be empowered by God’s Spirit. And follow God’s lead. That was His passion. And that is the only thing that shows the world who God is.
May that be our prayer today as well. “God we want to be right where you are. And if you lead us into some place or something new, go before us, stay near, and use us for your glory.” – Sandi
