We were serving on a mission trip when our friends received word that their first grandchild was born. Their granddaughter was early, healthy and thousands of miles away. We celebrated and joined in praying about whether they should cut short their mission trip to go meet the newest member of the family. They felt God was leading them to stay and continue serving.
During church the next day, a young Guatemalan mother was sitting on the other side of room holding her sleeping baby. She made her way over to my friends and held out her baby as if to say, “Would you like to hold her?” They did. They sang. They cried. They tenderly held this baby as if it were their own granddaughter.
“I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.” 2 Kings 20:5
God was the only other One in the building who knew of their situation. He saw their tears. He nudged a tenderhearted new mom. And we were all in awe of God’s care. God hears the cry of your heart as well. May you see His Hand of compassion at work in your life today as well. – Sandi
