I forget just how close God is. Do you? Our troubles are big and close. And emotions tell us that God is distant, uncaring or distracted. But His Word says otherwise:
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Psalm 145:18
It doesn’t matter how long it has been since you’ve prayed. Or how good or bad you were yesterday. Or how the problem is that you are facing today. When you recognize your need for God and call out to Him, He is close. That is hard to wrap our minds around. It seems like it should be more complicated. But it isn’t. God is closer than you think.
