Why does God allow suffering? Why would a good God allow bad things to happen? Maybe you’ve had those thoughts as well? I don’t have it all figured out, but here is what God’s Word says:
“Suffering produces perseverance; which produces character; which produces hope.” Romans 5:3
We live in a broken world with broken people. Some suffering is a byproduct of that. But even then, God doesn’t waste our suffering. He uses it to work out good things in us and our lives. Tenacity. Integrity and a hope for a future pain or loss. Those are all byproducts of suffering when we surrender our suffering to God. I’ve chased after the “whys” of suffering and found little comfort. I’ve surrendered my pain to my Father and found great comfort and hope. – Sandi
