When my husband and I were still dating, I didn’t say, “I love you” quickly. I had seen the word misused and I didn’t want to simply throw it around lightly. To say “I love you” is weighty. To live out “love” is life changing.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs…”
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Some days I love well. Some days I don’t. But this verse reminds me of the work that the Holy Spirit is doing in my life. He loves us perfectly and then empowers us to love well. Because we can share the love we’ve been shown.
Who can you love well today? May live it out and reflect God’s love to a world who is longing to be loved well. – Sandi
