Can I be honest with you? This verse used to frustrate me.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
It isn’t that I didn’t believe in the life change that Jesus brings. It was that I wasn’t seeing as much “new” in my life as I wanted. The “old” was much more obvious. If you can relate, can I encourage you to think about the timeline of creation? God didn’t speak the world into existence all at once. He could have. But instead, He chose to take His time. Day after day. And at the end of each day, He looked at His incomplete work and said, “It is good.”
God is recreating you. It, too, will take time. The new is coming. The old is moving out. And I believe, He looks on His incomplete work in your life each day and says, “It is good.” Because He is good and He isn’t finished with you yet. – Sandi
