Simple math should be simple, right? One plus one = two. But there’s nothing simple about these two commands:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength…Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
Two “simple” commands: Love God with everything you have/are. And love people. Why is it so hard? Because both require us to surrender. Loving God and others above ourselves is never easy. In fact, it is impossible to do without His Spirit and presence in our lives.
God loved us first. And continues to make us more like Him. May we not only love Him today, but may we love like Him today. Loving God. Loving People. Both are required. – Sandi
