Every promise of God is tethered to a timeline known only by Him. I need that reminder because I get impatient. He is faithful to every one of His promises. He also operates on a timeline known only by Him. And oftentimes it is different than ours.
“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
Do you realize that the preceding verse links these promises to a 70-year wait? Why would God give a promise but make them wait 70 years for it? I don’t know. But He is always good. So perhaps He was giving them something to cling to. A promise. Some encouragement. Can you imagine how hopeless it would have felt to wait 70 years without any promise for the future?
I don’t know God’s timeline for your situation. But I do know the promise. He has a plan. You have hope and a future. You can trust His Word, His plan, and His timing. Cling to Him while you wait. He is faithful.- Sandi
