There is one question Jesus asked that gets me every time. He turned to one of His disciples, Peter. I imagine they locked eyes and Jesus said:
“What about you? Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.” Mark 8:29
What a question. Peter had spent a lot of time with Jesus. He saw Jesus heal, preach and teach. Peter was near to Jesus. He knew who Jesus claimed to be. But that wasn’t enough. Jesus requires more than that we hang around Him, admire Him and know about Him. Imagine Jesus making eye contact with you today. And lovingly asking, “Who do you say that I am?” With a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, I would say, “You are the Christ, my only hope.” – Sandi
