“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
The simplicity and the complexity of this verse always cuts me to the core.
I tend to focus on tasks. What needs to get done. Prioritize and Accomplish.
But I think God is more concerned about the condition of our hearts than the tasks we accomplish.
Are we caring for people well? Is our heart moved by the pain of others? Do we do the “right thing” when no one is watching? Do we offer grace when it isn’t deserved? Do we lift others up instead of making a name for ourselves? Is our heart tender toward God and others?
To act justly. To love mercy. And to walk humbly with God. May our “to do” list look something like that. – Sandi
