When God speaks, hearts listen. Even those who don’t know Him.
There’s a story in the Bible about God calling out to Samuel, by name, three times. The best part of the story, to me, is this verse:
“Samuel did not yet know the Lord. The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.” 1 Samuel 3:7
What a powerful thought. God spoke to Samuel, by name, before Samuel knew who God was. God spoke. Samuel heard. And he responded to a God he did not yet know.
That brings me hope as I pray for those in my life that don’t yet know Jesus. We can continue to pray for God to reveal Himself. Because He does. And when He speaks, even those far from Him hear His voice. May God speak to all of our hearts today. And may we respond as Samuel did, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” – Sandi
