VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES
The medical advocate position is for a committed volunteer who wishes to work directly with survivors of sexual violence. You will advocate for survivors at the hospital by providing emotional support, answering questions, and explaining legal rights and options.
Those who wish to volunteer as medical advocates must complete sexual assault crisis intervention training and be able to commit to at least two on-call shifts a month. Becoming a sexual assault advocate will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to support people in crisis, especially survivors. The training provided meets the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault standards and is recognized across the state of Illinois. This is an opportunity for substantial growth.
