SEW HOPE COMMUNITY SEWING ROOM

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sewing Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the skills to teach both beginner and intermediate sewing techniques, be proficient in reading and interpreting commercial sewing patterns, and be comfortable working with both children and adults. This is a part-time position, and availability on some weekends is required.

Key Responsibilities:
– Teach beginner and intermediate sewing classes to children and adults.
– Provide instruction on reading and interpreting commercial sewing patterns.
– Create a positive and encouraging learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels.
– Tailor teaching methods to suit the needs of individual students and class groups.
– Plan and prepare lesson content and materials for each class.
– Assist students with troubleshooting sewing projects and offer guidance as needed.
– Promote the values and faith-based mission of Sew Hope Community Sewing Room.

Qualifications:
-Proficiency in sewing and experience in teaching beginner and intermediate sewing techniques.
-Strong understanding of commercial sewing patterns and how to teach their interpretation.
-Previous experience teaching children and adults is preferred.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-Ability to work weekends as needed and manage a flexible schedule.
-Passion for sewing, crafting, and teaching others.
